About PACAC

Performing Arts Center for African Cultures (PACAC) is a nonprofit organization founded by Kwame Ansah-Brew and Josephine Ansah-Brew to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultures of Africa through engaging, interactive, and educational African drumming and dancing experiences. At PACAC, we bring African heritage to life through authentic music, traditional drumming, dancing, storytelling, and cultural education. Our performances and workshops showcase the rich rhythms, artistic traditions, indigenous musical instruments, and vibrant attire that have shaped African communities for generations.

Every PACAC program is designed to create meaningful connections between participants and the living traditions of Africa in an environment that is welcoming, inspiring, and fun. Our mission is to preserve, celebrate, and share the performing arts heritage and continuing creativity of African cultures with people of all ages and backgrounds. Through community performances, educational workshops, festivals, schools, libraries, museums, and senior programs, we foster cultural understanding, lifelong learning, and meaningful connections.

We believe that African performing arts and cultures are powerful expressions of history, identity, resilience, and community. African rhythms, stories, movements, and traditions enrich lives by promoting physical wellness, creativity, education, social engagement, and cultural appreciation. Whether you are discovering African cultures for the first time or reconnecting with your own heritage, we invite you to experience the energy, joy, and transformative power of PACAC.

Our Work

PACAC enriches communities through interactive African drumming, dance, music, storytelling, and cultural education. We partner with schools, libraries, museums, senior centers, festivals, and community organizations to deliver engaging performances and hands-on workshops that celebrate the richness of African cultures. Through every program, we inspire learning, preserve cultural heritage, and create meaningful connections that bring people together.
